This is a terrible line IMO unless you have a great read. This player is giving you odds to hit your draw with your 2nd best hand at the moment, and you want to reopen the betting? Much more profitable to call this bet and hope the board pairs, then stack against a loose player who can't fold a good hand, all for the measly price of $30.

Thats exactly how I would play it, I wouldnt raise on the river because you are unlikely to be called by anything that you beat, all other hands will fold.

If Villian pushes you can get away cheap,

Why would I want to get away at all, calling the $30.00 bet allows me to possibly draw out on him if he does have the flush. He just gave me a cheap ticket to the river. I'm gonna take it.

Villain flips over the turned nutter butter nuts with K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Yes, he called a raise from the SB with that hand.

Oh well. I think the call on the river was close. He did bet way too little on the turn with the nuts. If he knew what I had he surely would have bet more.

Whats wrong with calling 3xBB raise from SB with K5s?

I think I would have raised the turn to $75 and see what he does. I think its cheaper this way to find out if he has the flush, than just calling down on turn and river.

[/ QUOTE ]

The raise might be a good play if you have a hand like A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] that is drawing dead; you could fold to a reraise with no qualms.

But in this case you are drawing live.

That changes everything; calling is now by far the best option, a raise isn't even close.

With those stack, not much wrong with it. But this cat was calling raises with a lot less than that.

Thanks once again for your wonderful detailed commentary and infinite wisdom. Meet sarcasm.

Look I really don't have a problem with anyone. But you know what? You're attitude is really really bad chief. Perhaps a prescription for zoloft will make you happy?

Not being a jerk but whats your deal anyway?

I think the raise with the trip eights should have been bet higher to drive out other opponents to take down the pot.If you had the read on the SB and thought he had the flush why did you call
