Default NL in the \"Big Game\" How does that work?

Could someone explain the NL part of the 4000/8000 game at the Bellagio? It is my understanding that there is a cap of 100K, that being the most any player can lose on one hand. Are the blinds still 4000/8000? Perhaps I am missing something, but I don't see how this could be that skillful with only 12.5 BB each.

I just imagine hands occurring like this.

Chan raises to 24K preflop from the CO. Doyle moves in from the BB for 100K.

or

Ivey opens for 22K from UTG, Daniel N. calls on the button, blinds fold. Ivey bets 78K in the dark.

I must be missing something here, someone please enlighten me.

Thanks,

Burno

Blinds are 1,000-2,000 with a 1,000 ante.

Fairless, not true. The "Big Game" is usually a mixed game, where they play 7-8 different games in sequence with different blind/ante structures for each game. I don't think they play it the same way every time, they mix it up after the players who are in agree.

For the no-limit portion, he is correct. The blinds are 1000-2000. I doubt the ante is 1000 though. Seems high.
For limit games, the blinds are higher.

No the ante is 1,000 which is completely nuts.

They use different blind structures for the limit and no-limit/pot-limit games.

I'm very surprised about the ante, there's 11k in antes/blinds preflop. that's going to play a lot more like a tournament hand than almost any cash game situation.

Actually, the blind/ante structure is the same for all limit games and the same for all pot limit/no limit games. Barry Greenstein has the info at the bottom of the front page on his website. I would expect this to be common knowledge by now.
