Slow Playing strategy?

How often, if ever, would you slow play premium hands preflop?

Only when the situation arises where you are better off slowplaying preflop. IE against a donkey who bets every-single-flop like he just flopped the nuts or something.

I learned not to slowplay premium hands preflop, it just comes back to haunt you if you do. There are some specific situations where I will though. Sometimes you'll find yourself at an overly aggressive table where nearly every hand is bet strong preflop, I'll limp in with aces-kings-queens-etc. on these tables.

Maybe one time in 1,000 chances.

I can only think of about 5 time in the last month I have slow played AA-QQ's. Everytime I seem to do it after the hand is over I sit and think "What the hell was I thinking."

I don't do it. Slowplaying should be saved for big hands. Not one pair.

Get the money in the middle when the odds are in your favor.

no point, u should only really slowplay post flop. when the pot is small, your hand is unlikely to be draw out on and a free card will give someone a 2nd best hand.

Not all the time, there a few instances where you can slowplay premium hands pf.

1) On an over agresive table where you know it's going to be raised pf anyway

2) there are a few players I play against who I know will ALWAYS isolate a limper no matter what they hold. If they are at my table and right behind me I will open limp premium hands.

You should only do it when you are playing at a level or table where your opponents know you well. In isolation, it's less +EV to slowplay preflop than just raise, but use it for shifting tactics vs knowns. (NL)

I will occasionally slowplay big starting hands heads up. A limp often encourages a raise from the other player, since he sees your limp as a sign of weakness. When he does raise me, I generally just call and raise strongly on the flop, hoping he hit a pair under mine...
