I never know whether to love these or hate them....when you do something not right and it works out soooo well.

The pot was so gigantic so I had odds to see the river. I like that.

I thought I was the only fool who did this (actually, I'm at 1152x whatever, but close enough) - it definitely causes problems.

For instance, this happened just a few mintues ago (when I flop a set, I kind of go into autobet zone)

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (7 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
1 fold, MP1 calls, Hero calls, 1 fold, Button calls, 1 fold, BB checks.

Flop: (4.50 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets, Button calls, BB folds, MP1 folds.

Turn: (3.25 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, Button calls.

River: (5.25 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, Button raises, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 9.25 BB

Results in white below:
Hero has 5h 5d (full house, fives full of aces).
Button has Ah As (four of a kind, aces).
Outcome: Button wins 9.25 BB.

Oh, and I'd play your hand the same way.

EDIT: Actually, I was posting this because I thought the river bet was idiotic, but, looking at it again, I'd probably play it the same way, seeing as Button was quite fishy. I could have almost folded to the raise, but... By the way, Button needs to chill out with those aces. After all, he had to put me on 77 right? Planned on waiting for the turn to pop it, then the scare card came...

You have 4 outs to beat the straight on the river meaning the pot has to offer you ~1:11 to call. You are getting 1:10 from the pot when it comes to you which is fine, and with your implied odds you can justify your turn play.

Would anybody wait until the turn to bet? There is no way the hero can protect his hand on the flop with this connected board. So, why not wait until the turn to bet a blank?
