to me this seems like the obvious river play. anyone disagree?

Yes, because I don't think you are gonna get called by that many hands. JT would have raised you on the turn probably, this particular hand looks like a flush draw. This looks like a perfect place to induce a bluff. I like it.

Any answer that doesn't include "It depends on the opponent" is clearly wrong. And it should also depend on your own table image.
Against those idiots who I have seen call 3 pot-sized bets with bottom pair, I would bet out every time. Against some of the overaggressive players, I would have check-called the turn and then checked the river as well. But I'll agree, against a completely unknown player, a check to induce a bluff is the play I would make the highest percentage (though not all) of the time in this specific case. |
