Default How can I fold trips ?

I have 77 on the button, and I raise the MP 3 ( only better) in a shorthanded (6 players) game. The SB folds, and the BB calls my raise and so does the MP3.
3players in the pot.
Flop is 10, 7, 8 rainbow.
MP3 bets, I raise, BB folds.
2 players in pot.
turn is a 2. MP 3 bets, I raise, he reraises, I call.
I know I am beat, but cannot figure out what. Maybe he hit better trips with TT ?
river is a 4. No flushes on board.
MP3 bets, I call.
I lose.

MP3 had J 9 off suit.

How should I have played this one ? How can I fold this hand ??

Thanks for all of your time and advice.

You can't fold this online. In fact, to a single bet on the river, you can't fold this anywhere unless the guy bets only with the nuts.

Are you really serious though?

You're way over your head in this game if you're seriously thinking about folding this hand. Your only decision on the turn is whether to 4-bet or just call. If it's online, I would 4-bet because you don't have to worry about a 5-bet (which would then mean that you're likely beat but still have to call). If it's live, I want to know some more info on this guy.

I have no idea why you're putting MP3 on TT. Would he open-limp with TT in a 6-max game? Likewise, he almost certainly doesn't have 88. His range of hands is T8, T7, 22, perhaps T9, and of course J9.

Don't worry about losing this hand. Worry about the fact that you were thinking of folding.

his turn bet is odd. it would look like a milking bet to me, and the only hand with which he can really be doing that is J9 or a i-didn't-reraise-with-aa/kk/qq-after-i-planned-on-limp-reraising. can't fault your play and folding would be crazy.

Yes, this was online 10/20. I am not complaining, but just wondering if I played it correctly. Thanks for all of your replies. Yes, I did win back more than I lost with him trying to hit his straights with one and two gappers later on !!

Knowing that you're beat here is a ridiculous statement. Turn play looks perfect.

"How should I have played this one ? How can I fold this hand ??"

you played it perfectly but your thinking in the hand is all wrong. This is a hand where you shouldn't be thinking about "how can i fold this hand" but about "how can i maximize this hand?"
