99 in MP. How would you play this?
Seems to be a fairly typical .05/1 PP table. No maniacs but a few loose players. No specific reads so far.
Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (9 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, Hero calls, 3 folds, Button calls, SB completes, 1 fold. Flop: (5 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players) SB checks, UTG+1 bets, Hero calls, Button calls, SB calls. Turn: (4.50 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players) SB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero checks, Button checks. River: (4.50 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players) SB checks, UTG+1 bets, Hero calls, Button folds, SB raises, UTG+1 calls, Hero calls. Re: 99 in MP. How would you play this?
I would raise preflop trying to minimize the number of opponents in the hand.

*grunch*
Firstly, raise this preflop! I would also raise the flop, and probably lead the turn if reraised. If reraised I would see what card came on the turn and check/fold unimproved. You should fold to the first river bet too imo. |

Re: 99 in MP. How would you play this?
Start by raising 99 preflop here, the hand will play out differently after that.

Raise preflop.
Raise the flop. As it played out, you gave very weak hands cheap opportunities to catch up. |

Re: 99 in MP. How would you play this?
PREFLOP: I RAISE. 99 is vulnerable to a lot of overcards, and I want people folding.
FLOP: I RAISE. UTG might be betting a flush draw, and I want to fold any single [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] holders and overcards that I can. A lot of outs might be able to be bought here. TURN: The hand would be different at this point the way I would have played it. I'm not sure what to do here based on the way you played it. RIVER: Looks like SB might have a 2 and has made trips. Too bad if we let him into this hand preflop for a half a bet with his T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] or something like that. |

Re: 99 in MP. How would you play this?
Thanks for the advice. I can see now that I should have raised PF and again on the flop.
SB showed Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG+1 showed J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] |

Raise PF, if bet to on flop raise for free card and if 3bet call should be easy fold on turn UI.
