Re: At what level of live NL are half the players professionals?
This is a question with no straight forward answer. Im mainly a live game casino player and the answer really varies on the venue and your opinion. I'd say in vegas you'll find much to my dismay "pros" at the 1-2 no limit tables all the way up. the funny part is the only thing that makes these guys pros is the fact that they say that they are, no the way they play. But, on the other hand on river boats and in small towns u can find some really tricky pros in the smaller games who you'd be suprised to find there like the 2/5 games. Id say for all intense purposes to start worrying about the real player at about 5/10 to 10/20 but even at these levels in live games there will always be atleast 3 to 4 donkeys for sure thats the beauty of live games.

if half the players in your game are professionals you are in the wrong game at any level (unless one of the players is larry flynt)...btw i have NEVER played in a 5-10 game where half the players were professionals, not even by accident

Re: At what level of live NL are half the players professionals?
And to further clear this issue most big pros u see on tv can be found at 5/10, 10/20, or 20/40 games it depends on the player. But almost all big name players can be found at Belagios 10/20 game from time to time. I mean all of them from Doyle to josh ariea to whoever you want to see. Sure they play bigger games but they dont shy away from these games. A lot of that has to do with the fact that no where in the Us really has a nonstop 20/40 or 25/50 nl game. i was just in vegas and looked they just dont occur at all times.

[ QUOTE ]
Trust me. I'm not thinking about limit. I've played in several 2/5 games across the country, there are ZERO professionals in these games, unles they are playing to just blow off steam (i.e. PP) As for online, yes, someone could make a decent living multitabling 5/10. But if I was a professional, that would seem rather mind numbing and I'd probably rather be playing 25/50. [/ QUOTE ] Someone 4 tabling 5-10 NL online could make much more then a decent living, even playing as little as 30 hours a week. |

Re: At what level of live NL are half the players professionals?
As far as online on Party skins, there is no level at which 50% of the players are pros. At the $1k stakes, about 50% of the REGULARS will break even or make money, but only a subset of them are good enough that they could multi-table and make a good living off off it (100k+). As far as the non regulars go, more of them lose money than make money, and the fact that they're not regulars means that they aren't internet pros.
