I am about over hands like this.

Here is what I keep running into and can not seem to find a way to properly deal with it.
Sitting in BB with a low pocket pair. I stay in to see the flop if it is free or maybe one raise. The flop is a medium pair and a card higher than your pair. Should my cards go in the muck immediatly or should I wait for the ass whipping to come, when no one shows agression and I am unable to release the hand. Of course someone catches a higher pair and then milks me for another bet or worse the board pairs a gain and I am beat on the board with a sissy kicker.
I sure could use some advice on how to play this.

Small pocket pairs are really for catching sets. Fold the flop if you miss.

I think that this is a little weak as a general statement. Often the correct play is to fold, yes, but don't make it your default. It should depend on how many opponents you have left, what kind of players they are, and what the texture of the board is. There was a great thread by Entity a while back that discussed something similar to this.

I have to work tomorrow so I have coppied the post you linked and will take it to work to read tomorrow.
I generaly toss hands like this after someone shows any agression but I am not afraid to play it if I think that I am ahead.

Holding a PP when the flop is paired is a great situation. If there is a chance to face the field with two cold take it (i.e., you're the BB, 4-handed, Button raised pre-flop -> C/R flop). If no chance, play it aggressively. With a paired flop, there are only 5 live cards that your opponents can hold to better than your hand. At the same time, your hand is very vulnerable. Do what you can to put a lot of pressure on your opponents, trying to win it before the river.
