SB bets $9, Hero calls $8.25 (All-In), UTG+1 calls $1.65 (All-In), UTG+2 folds, MP2 calls $0.90 (All-In).

I'm not very well-acquainted with pot limit, but I'll give it a crack. I would think that by the flop with that many people in, all you're drawing to most of the time (minus runner-runner full house) is 4 outs to a wheel and 12 other outs to a low. So that is 4 full and 12 1/2 pots (assuming you take the low uncontested).

Odds of success: 10 "money" outs (I cut split outs in half, is this method legit?)

Minimum pot size needed for call: $8.25 to call times 47/10 equals a pot much bigger than $17.25. You have no implied odds since you're broke and not many people will call that huge raise, giving it no hope of reaching the break-even mark.

Can anyone check my work here?

Default Re: How\'s my line

A few weeks ago someone answered a similar question about a pot limit hand where they had a good hand preflop and the player gets all his money in preflop.

My first thought was...good, got his money in when he was ahead.

But Buzz came back with a different idea. He said something to the effect that, you take some of your ammunition away during the hand if all you do is get the money in and hope the hand holds up.

You want to put the opponent into a situation where they may have to make multiple decisions during a hand. Spots where they can make a mistake.

Or, you can get away from a hand if it goes wrong.

Just some thoughts. I, of course, am paraphrasing and could be way off base with passing this on as it was a thought I took from another.

Good luck,

Dave

I agree with that explanation. Isn't that what Pot limit is about compared to No limit, where you just pick the big preflop hand and dump all your chips in it?

However-if I'm right- he should have dumped his hand on the flop for that big a raise.

I wouldn't raise with that hand in the blinds. It's not strong enough to try to get people out of pots and my position isn't good enough to build a pot preflop.
I believe if this was a limit game a raise would be a good play with that many callers, but not in pot limit.

I would take a note on those players. Good game selection.

off: Is there a money transfer option on Ub between the players?
