In my mind there are only two options.

1. bet and fold to a raise

-Not too sure I like this option. You've got a lot of chips in the pot and your stack size wont be too great if you bet/fold here.

2. Bet into the raiser and call his push.

-I don't really like the check/folding option. It seems weak, and while your stack is average, it's far from comfortable.

Though spot, if you're looking to win the tournament I like the second option. If you're just looking to place I like the first option.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't like the play preflop. I would push or maybe just call. I don't see the point of betting half my stack.. makes it too hard to fold. And if it's hard to fold because of how much you've bet, why not just push and increase the chance he will fold (note: is this "fold equity"? I'm discussing here? I've been meaning to ask).

MP1 has 2400 left, and the pot is 4400

you really want to risk him checking behind and drawing to a free overcard?

Most likely he is calling any jam, and YOU are calling any jam from him, so be the one to get the money in.. maybe you can make him fold (which in this spot given that he is getting about 3.5/1 wouldn't be a terrible thing if he had overcards)

Honestly, you may be safe folding JJ here.

Why would villian essentially min raise you pf, committing half of his stack? Because he wants action.

Unless you have evidence that he has very very poor tournament strategy, he almost certainly has AA or KK. Even QQ. He wants a call, and would have pushed with a smaller pair or Ace + Broadway.

BTW

you dont want them to fold on this flop? AK (without any hearts) is about 25% to win on this flop.. and your all in lays them over 3/1. What is there about the situation to root for a call?

If you were gonna fold it here, you should've folded PF, because you're not getting enough odds to flop a set and you're apparently sure your overpair outs are no good.

Once you get here and have some doubt, just push.
