Default Way OT - where to stay in AC?

I'm going to be in Philly for my high school reunion next week, and am considering a side trip to Atlantic City. Any suggestions on an inexpensive hotel there? I don't want anything fancy, just a place to crash between playing and getting on the plane back that doesn't charge by the hour.

BTW, anyone here from the Phila. area?

there are tons and tons of them, too many to mentioned, if you want to be directly in AC they are a bit more expensive(as far as cheap motels go) and a bit more crappy imo. if you stay in absecon, you can get a great deal, and its a 10 minute drive to the marina. if memory serves absecon is route 40. you dont even really need reservations, but search any engine and you will come up with many good deals. or search on here, although i havent beeen in teh b&m forum in while, but this has been discussed at lenght in there in the past....

have a fun trip

Route 30 West goes to Absecon. If you go I suggest going to the Borgata. If you play hold em during the day your guarenteed to have at least 3 fish at your table.

yeah 30...DOH,

and if you go to borg, you can get nice discounts on nice rooms there. i dont remember particulars except you have to play over 8 hours the day of the room you are trying to get comped, at i think 10/20 or above....?!?! sorry for the ambiguous answers, i have done this many times, just dont recall specifics. i do know that during the week you can get a room there for 69, or is it 59.....bah, 10$ either way.

In my experience, the consistenly best deal in AC is the Econolodge (Boardwalk). It's wedged right behind the Sands in the middle of town, and it usually pretty inexpesive. The rooms aren't that bad either.

I am from Philadelphia. Olde City is a good place to hang out for drinks, music and late dinner.

If you are a poker player, and that is what you intend on playing while in AC, you can stay at the Borgata Casino for as little as $39 from Sunday through Thursday. It is by far the nicest casino in AC.

Normal poker rate is $100 on those nights, but if you play 4 hours the rate is reduced to $59, and if you play 8 hours the rate is reduced to $39.

If you want to stay on the Weekend, you may want to find a place on RT.30 like the "Executive Lodge". I hear it is inexpensive and the rooms aren't bad. Not too far from casinos as well.
