Hands 1 and 2 look like a fold.

Hand 3 looks like a clear raise to me.

Hand #1: I would take 1 off here. An Ace doorcard is an automatic completion at this stage of the tournament, so you can't give the guy credit for having a hand, and you have a strong starter.

Hand #2: Clear fold, the other 2 guys must have some sort of hand.

Hand #3: Clear completion. Once the Ace gives up his opportunity to steal, you are in a really good position with a 9 left to act and the bring-in. Your steal attempt will have a high probability of success.

Am I raising to try and steal the antes and bring-in with what is probably the best hand at the moment?

If I have raised, and been called, wouldn't both of us be pretty much committed to the end?

What would I do if I caught a face card on 4th?

I'm kind of new to this game...I've read the 2 Super/System chapters on it, but haven't really played. Why is hand one a fold?

Yes, if you raised and are called I think you both are probably pot committed. But you most likely have the best hand so its something I think needs to be done. You have good potential to escape for high or low if he calls (or reraises) and he has a good hand.

My advice would be to catch good on 4th in these situations though...

True, but even if he does not have a strong hand he still beats you for high. You currently have nothing, 2 gapped, 2 flush low draw.

Taking 1 off is a big chunk of your stack. That's why I fold.

In a cash game, I'd call.

Its only due to the particular set of circumstances on the bubble in this SNG that make this a fold.

I'm new to this game as well, and your question is why I posted this particular hand...

My thoughts were as follows:
1. It was a tournament where top 3 get paid
2. Two of my lows were out and both involved in the pot yet
3. The bring-in was short and if he came inm he was in for his last 500 (good for me if he loses, not so good if I don't win)
4. The A is probably going to lead 4th, and if he has an A will lead all the way. If I catch good on 4th, I'm stuck drawing to the end (??)

If your suited six was an offsuit seven, I would agree with your advice. If you brick on 4th, you can fold and still have more than 900 chips, so you would pretty much be in the same position as before (in 3rd place sitting on a mediocre stack with 4 left). If you catch on 4th, you're obviously going to go all the way, so it's possible you can get broke, but it's also possible you could win a pot that will enable you to cruise into the money and position you for a chance to win the tournament, rather than just limping into the money.
