Default AQs in pos vs TAA capper

Villain is 23/12/2.36/22/38 after 230 hands.

I have a note on him, but I didn't read it before playing out the hand.

It reads:
-aft pfr rf on jjt 2tn, then fold to f3b
("After a preflop raise, raised the flop on a JJT board that was two-tone, then folded to a flop three-bet.")

He hesitated for maybe half to three-quarters of a second before three-betting the flop.

Any help appreciated.

This is posted partly just to prove that there are some occassions in which I DO raise preflop, but also because I'm not sure what hte best line is here.

How about: call/call/call, or call/call/bet-fold (to checkraise, if he checks the river to me).

By the river you're not beating much. QQ? Probably not given the flop 3 bet. I probably call the river as well, but I think it may be a mistake.

Edit: The more I think about this one, the more I don't like the flop raise. You'll get 3 bet by better hands, and you could worse hands to fold. If you're set on going to showdown, I would just call down.

I think the question is... is the villian capable of capping pre flop with something like KQ, JT, TT, etc. If so, then call down mode it is.

Call preflop, call down, bet if checked to would be my line. Comments?

Preflop is good. Raising that flop is terrible. You want one bet, and one bet only, going in on each street.

Folding to the flop 3-bet seems really weak and looks really bad at the table but it is probably the correct move, unless you're aware that he knows to cap hands of lesser strength given your wide(r) range for 3-betting preflop here. After he 3-bets the flop his range is AK, AA, KK, and MAYBE, MAYBE AQ.

But I agree with Wookie that calling down seems prudent.

Call/call/call is probably your best option. You said he gives up worse hands if you give him heat, so don't give him a chance. Let him bet weaker hands.

This is all decided on what he caps with.

If he caps with TT/JJ/AQo/AQs then you should call down.

Although if he's a standard capper with AK/QQ/KK/AA, I like the flop raise but you need to fold to a 3 bet.

I would rather prefer the second line.

Uh, why? Hero is drawing dead to anything but QQ.

raising flop is bad for reasons already stated

i hate calling this down cause you beat only QQ (which there is only 3 of)

the way you played this (flop raise), I don't know how you can call that turn bet with your read
