Home tourney decision.

Ok here it is. 6 people started with 5k in chips and we were down to 3 people with the blinds at 500-1000 and i was in the BB. There is 30k in chips at the table and i have 5200 left after i posted the BB. I am dealt 4c6c and both people call the blind. the flop is 4s5h7c and i go allin thinking that someone might fold a better hand and if they call i have open ended straight draw and back door flush possibility. there is 3k in the pot and i go all-in for 5200. i feel that this was the right move because i had told myself i wasnt gettin away from the hand so i figured the best chance for me was to be the aggressor.

At this point in the tourney, you are short stacked and all-in is the only way to go. In fact, there are probably 2 of you short-stacked, i.e, <10K in chips.

When you have so few people in the tourney, try the system I use, where you don't raise the blinds but every 1/2 hr. and only if the average stack size is going to be 2 1/2 times the BB of the level you are moving up to. This gives you the opportunity to play some real tournament poker.

I would make the same exact move for the exact same reasons.

At this point your hand should be good, and the only hand you should potentially fear is the small blind, because their two cards are just as questionable as the two you're playing.

Of course, there's always a caller with a draw, but that's just one of those chances you've gotta take when you're short stacked. And besides, you've got plenty of draws of your own.

no lol. SB held pocket 5's and my draw didnt come. but i still stand by my decision. anyways thanks for your responses.

IT would depend on a few things, like how solid the opposing players were, on the bubble or not, but I don't hate the play. You still have lots of outs to get past the overpair.
