And no, I'm not raising the flop. That just means I'm paying too much to draw when I'm almost certainly behind. My 9's are as clean as they're going to be.

I'm having a really hard time giving Hero even close to 5 outs here. I agree that a 7 is clean and will most likely send the pot Hero's way. However, the 9s are so dirty it hurts me.

First off, a 789A board puts three to a straight on the board. If there isn't a JT, T6, 56, already out there, then other possible holdings such as QJ have picked up a redraw for Hero to dodge on the river.

Second, the 9 of hearts really makes me want to vomit.

Third, any of the A-middle holdings (A9-A7) will now have completed a higher two pair.

If I can find it in my heart to give his hand 3 outs, then I could see calling if the two to act had already called and he was closing the action. Getting 12:1 immediate pot odds on a 15:1 draw really doesn't make me happy calling when I'm not closing the action.
