Prague is best in the winter, at least then you don't have the tourist hoards.
I also reccomend ljubljana, and wish I had more time to travel in Slovenia. Great Christmas markets. My favourite European destination is Spain though, really liked Granada, although Barcelona is more of a single mans destination. Good luck with your trip. Granite

Barcelona rocks. I agree with Diablo about Las Ramblas and it's key to stay near there, and then go off the main roads and find some local cafes/diners for some good cheap food. Plenty of night life in that city every day of the week too. Nice beaches. Overall great place.
Amsterdam another place you need to go to. I haven't been to Austria but everyone I have spoken with who's traveled Europe says awesome things about it.

Wow. Mind sharing a little bit about why you're living in Berlin, how long you've been there, how you like it, etc?
I lived in Regensburg (about an hour north of Munchen) for a little over 6 months. Only made it up to Berlin once, and didn't really like it; too spread out for my tastes. Lots of historical [censored] to see, though.

[/ QUOTE ] well i dont really have a specific reason for being here. i did a little mini-tour of europe in may and decided i wanted to move over here for a bit. since berlin is the only place where i know people (close cousin and a few friends met through him), i came here. i've only been here 15 days now and my german is nicht gut, so i cant really say how much i like it. although it does grow on me a bit every day.
