Default Play a few hands with me #1

These are from a private online tournament with a bunch of the guys from my monthly home game. The table is on the weak-tightish side.

Hand 1 : This villian had just raised a few hands earlier from the button in a stealing situation and I did a resteal from the BB up to t300 and he folded. So, when I got KK and he made the same raise, the reraise to t300 was gauranteed to get a call.

I like your line. If he had a 6 or a flush, I'd think he'd bet out on the turn, to prevent you from checking behind with overcards. I think more likely he's got something like 99 or JJ, figured on the flop that he was either way ahead or way behind, and decided to let you keep betting if you had something like AK.

Seems well played to me.

I guess by the turn it doesn't matter, since he only has t465 left, but my main question was the size of the preflop raise and the flop bet.

His flat call on the flop is a lttle disconcerting, but you have to bet the turn as not to give a free [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] on the river in case he has one.

I can't think of any hands that I would flat call that flop with except AA where I have the A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], and even then I might raise if I have you on a steal out of the BB as you may have a straight draw.

Based on the size of the pot and what's he's got left he's coming along all the way, might as well get it in on the turn.

Regards,
Woodguy

edit: given his stack size he should have either folded or pushed the flop, I really don't understand his play there

I would have preferred to bet a bit less on this flop. If he missed the flop he'll probably fold (since you said the table was weak tight) to any non-trivial sized bet. If he is on a draw he'll call quickly, pot bet or no. If he had a pocket pair (a reasonable read), again you're in trouble if he got trips or he'll just fold his smaller pocket pair. I think a flop bet of around 400 would have been fine, given the above. Still roughly a 2/3 pot bet. Depending on your read of the player a 300-350 bet could have worked too.

When the turn came you have already committed 50% of your chips and now the villian is going to get around 4:1 to call your all in bet. I think you're either beat, or he isn't likely to improve at this point. I would have just checked along.
