Default Vegas trip report 1/15-1/17

This is pretty short. I only played one session of poker at Excalibur around 1am to 5:30am. I was at table 18 (I think) of the 1-2 NL game. The action was really loose in the first couple of hours with the bad players having a big stack of chips (somehow) then losing them to other players (not me unfortunately). After folding a lot of hands (steals didn't work, or the loose players would call with non-cold-calling hands) I doubled up twice against the same guy by laying a bear trap on the river, and having him go allin on me thinking I was weak. I doubled up again vs another weaker player. He claimed he had a set on a flop of 5,7,T rainbow with me having KTs on the button, six-handed. Judging from the action, he probably did have a set, so I got pretty lucky to get a runner-runner K and T to make a bigger full house than he did.

My friend sat at table 19, and didn't do that well. He made a move at some bad player at the table at the wrong time; they guy had AA. Unfortunately, even bad players pick up AA once in awhile.

Exacalibur has a pretty good card room. I saw lots of players signing up for the baby spread limit game. The NL games are filled with new players, and some annoying college aged players who think they are poker gods.

Cocktail service takes a while, dealers are nice, and the "bad beat" wheel is a good promotion (if your aces are cracked on a $30+ pot).

That's about it for the poker related content of my trip to vegas. If any of you were at the Excalibur Saturday night (really Sunday morning 1am - 5:30am), be sure to pipe up. Thanks

I was there around the same time too. Can't remember for the life of me which table I was on though. I think I ended up leaving at around 4am.

When you enter the poker room from casino floor ,there was NL table to the far left of the room (table #1 I think) and two tables in the back-right side of the room. On the right hand side, the table closer to the projector screen tv (or buffet table) was table 19. The table closer to the signup area was table 18. I was at the table closer to the signup area. I was in seat 10 (at the dealer's left hand) sucking down coffee.

Laggy drunken asian guy. He might have been 3s (pretty sure it was 2s). Sitting right next to the wheel. Part of the night there was a black girl sitting in the chair right behind him for reasons unknown to me.

Oops I was in seat one I mean. Yeah there was an asian guy to the left of me. Saw him drag down some sizeable pots with AK.

Yeah, that's me. I had a stretch of 30 min where I got like 3 AK's and hit every single flop. I was able to show down some big hands. That pretty much made up for what was an otherwise bad poker weekend.

One hand of note on that table. Soon after I showed down some big hands (and raised pf everytime), I got QQ in BB. 5 limpers to me, and I raised $10. ALL 5 limpers called. The dealer turned to me with a funny look and said "Looks like you got 5 callers". Flop comes JTx. I bet out $50 and all 5 folds....
