I agree.

He probably thinks you raised PF with high cards and then made a continuation bet on the flop with them. Then when you no high card comes on the turn he thinks you gave up. So, he bets the river in hopes you'll fold.

I'd call this bet. I think you win often enough to make this call profitable.

The only thing I'm not sure of is whether or not you should have bet the turn instead of checking... Maybe you could have bet 300 on the turn?

Thoughts anyone?

I like the turn check I think, as it will induce weaker hands and bluffs and you'll hopefully get away with just paying off a small value bet like this one with your overpair when he's got it.
