Default Matusow v. Phil Ivey HU right now on FTP

If anyone cares, Mike Matusow and Phil Ivey are playing heads up 200/400 LO8 on full tilt right now. Fun to watch.

I really find this interesting.

That guy (Matasow) needs to have his head examined. Why on earth would he voluntarily play these guys HU. Last week he got thrashed by Helmouth playing HU hold em on UB and then challenged him to 300/600 O8. Phil didn't take the bait and just left the table while Mike hurled expletives at him.

Now this?

What a friggin' ego on this jerk.

He might want to look for an easier game....

Dave

Table is empty now - can someone post the results or hand history?

Matusow has a reputation as a very good LO8 player.

I watched for a while and things stayed pretty even. The most interesting thing to me was how much both of them were folding on the river in fairly big pots.

Mike's best game is definitely O8 (when he is focused that is), and while Phil Ivey is certainly not a "fish" in the game by any possible stretch of the word, it is one of his weaker games, so it's not as horrible a spot for Mike as you might think.

Not to mention that 200/400 is much lower than what Phil usually plays, so Mike might have an edge in that Phil might not take the game as seriously as he would a 4k/8k game. I anticipate being flamed for these comments, but I stand by them.

Why do you say that LO8 is Mike's best game?

Well Matusow was 9th to Ivey's 20th at one World Series Limit 08 event, but Ivey won another Omaha event at the World Series.

It seems to me they both probably can play this game with anyone in the world.

I think thats enough of a reason for Mike to play Phil regardless of how good Phil is at the game. When players play much smaller games, they are bound to play much weaker because the stakes are so small they dont care, there is a huge difference between 4k/8k and 200/400 so I would think Mike would stand to make a profit most of the time.
