Default Loosest games in Ontario? (Canadians only!)

Of the various options do you think there is a big difference in the play from one casino to another?

Also, does anyone have any experience in the NL games at Niagra?

Thanks.

And are there any kill games anywhere? I live in South Western (London) but can travel.

Depends on what day you play. I keed running into a lot of the same people. Brantford is still my favorite. It's hard to beat Rama in the summer when there's a big show in town and the room fills up with tourists. I have not played at Niagara yet. While they have just eight tables, I'm not in a big rush. I have not seen a kill game in Ontario but I play in one every month in Vancouver (10-20). Calgary is another stop I like because they have several rooms and you can find games where they alternate Hold'em and Omaha.

One of the posters here is a regular at the game out near Peterborough, which is also one I have not bothered with because it's usually the same 50 guys mugging each other. You can get a better review on that room from one of the regulars.

Can you recommend any good places in Calgary? I travel there on occasion and could probably find some time to visit a cardroom or two.

I saw you mention Stampede in another post, but it wasn't clear if the casino was only open during the Stampede itself.

Loosest games: Casino Rama on the weekends in the summer, as Ryden said. Even the 20-40 is a LAP-fest.

Toughest games: Port Perry (Great Blue Heron Casino). The 20-40 on weekends approaches good, but not always. The 50 and 75 games I play in every few Tuesdays has maybe 2 weak spots and the rest are tough, aggressive players who don't make a lot of mistakes. I sat in the 20-40 for 16 hours yesterday and it was playable for a beating. But on average, GBH is easily the toughest game in Ontario.

Brantford has more consistently good games.

it depends on what limits you're playing.

i have yet to see a really bad 5-10 game in ontario. they're almost always really juicy, with usually at least 2-3 people that really don't know what they're doing. the game in port perry may occasionally get quite (weak-)tight which means it's tough to beat the rake, though.

the 10-20 games are generally more aggressive, but just as beatable as the 5-10. you just need to watch your opponents more at 10-20. you dont want to get pushed off pots by LAGs, and you should know when to fold to passive players. people love to cold call (and sometimes 3-bet) with garbage like J8s in these games.

20-40 is always a step tougher wherever you go. i haven't played a lot at this level, but of the few games i've played in, port perry was definitely the toughest, rama was next, and brantford was the juiciest. the games are generally much better on weekends and other holidays (this should be obvious).

Thank you.

I have played on the brantford 10/20 (and a smattering of 5/10's elsewhere) which was ridiculously beatable. My plan this summer is to play 10/20 half the time and take shots at 20/40 fridays, saturdays and weekends. What time do you think is best? I'm thinking starting at 10 or 11pm (as in starting playing there. I'll get my names on the list and go to wendy's in advance :P). My bankroll can cover it, but my experience maybe cannot.

Brantford is the most convient for me so I will probably play there unless Rama is a significantly better game.

In hindsight, LAP doesn't mean anything.

Loose-Passive fest.

Try www.flushdraw.ca for Calgary poker info.

There are three cardrooms, one which holds daily tournaments and info can be found above also. Good luck.

Stampede casino only has poker during stampede week, and they only had two tables, but you will always be able to find a game somewhere else.
