Default beware of Poker Edge (poker-edge.com) \"free trial\"

After some discussion of this product here, I tried the "free trial."

I hated the software, it slowed down my new, robust computer and just wasn't worth the hassle.

But the reason I am steamed is that in spite of e-mailing them within the three-day trial period, I was still charged $10 for a month (the charge was dated two days after the end of the trial period).

Then I was e-mailed a response to my cancellation, which said NOTHING about them having charged me.

Very, very sleazy, and that's it, I'm through with all "free trials" that require credit card or PayPal info.

I have requested a refund and complained to PayPal, and if I don't get back the money, I shall spam rgp daily on this topic.

P.S. Since first posting this, I received this e-mail:

"Elizabeth,
I have no problem refunding your payment. In fact, I just tried to do
so, but paypal seems to be having problems and will not allow me to
make the refund. I will try again when they fix the problem."

Is this not classic Dutch Boyd/Poker Spot-style BS?

Right, he wants to give back the money, it's just that *PayPal* doesn't work.

This is standard sleazebag procedure: cheat someone, and then lie politely until they give up or forget and go away.
