Default Forum vernacular

Although I have been around here for eons, there are a couple of Forum terms that I don't quite understand. Let's start with "Shania" and "meh". Help anyone?

i completely hate it, a lot of it stems from the fact that nobody ever says it in actual life. shania comes from the sredni post which somebody will no doubt link.

He lives in Canada. They still wear jean jackets there. I don't mean since their short-lived return, they just never stopped wearing them.
