Default Party 5/10 Hand

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Good BBJ Table. Loose and passive.

Reads:
SB and UTG are unknown.
BB is a calling station, not too loose preflop, but likes to call down postflop.
MP3 was unknown, but seems to be decent.
UTG+1 and MP1 are both loose and very passive.

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, Hero calls, MP3 calls, 2 folds, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (7 SB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (7 players)
SB bets, BB calls, UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, MP1 folds, Hero calls, MP3 folds.

Turn: (5.50 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB bets, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, Hero raises...

Good, Bad, Standard, Boring?

I think I would raise the flop. You are likely ahead on the flop and have a backdoor draw to improve, and anyone with a bigger ace is reverse dominated. You can also knock out MP3's overcards by making him pay 2 bets.

I think the turn raise is fine as well.

I like it. You can't protect your hand and you don't have a big (if any) equity edge anyway.

So it's better to wait and see if you like the turn, and then raise for double the bet, with a bigger edge. (Or fold having paid the minimum if a bad card comes)

There is a good chance I have the best hand on the flop, however it's very vulnerable and there's no way I can protect it. I don't want to see any diamonds, overcards, 5's, 8's, or 3's.

By waiting until the turn, many good things can happen. If a scare card comes and there's a bet and raise to me, I can easily fold. If an A or 7 comes, I can raise a bet and trap the other players inbetween. If a heart comes, I can probably make a value raise.

It is true that raising the flop will probably force out MP3, but I don't think that the value from that outweighs what I gain by just calling the flop. He may be folding anyway.
