Default What strategy do you people use?

Hi everyone. I really need help. I have looked all over the net for articles of tried and winning strategies for getting in the money in online tourneys. I just can't find anything. Im looking for a strategy that tells me what to do in the early stages, middle, late stages, what hands to play in each stage etc. Basically a somewhat step by step. I know some will tell me that there is no true strategy that works all the time. I know this, I just want to read what they say and try them for myself knowing that nothing ever works all the time but they will probably improve my tournament play

I just need a strategy to use because right now I have no strategy. I am doing right now what I think is right which is play decent hands, but I would like to read what some winning tourney players articles on what they use. I have not made the money on my own strategy so this is why I seek help.

so what strategy do you people/the pros use in tournaments to get in the money spots? I know this might have been asked before and it might bother some of you. If so im sorry, i just need help and I thought posting here would be a good idea.

Im a poor guy and I only play the 1 dollar nlholdem tourneys on pokerstars.

You're asking people to essentially write an entire book here as your question is extremely complex. And most would say that their strategy will vary depending upon the tournament, table, stack size, etc.

I would suggest buying a book on NL tournies. My preference for a first book is "No-Limit Texas Hold Em: The New Player's Guide to Winning Poker's Biggest Game" by McEvoy and Daugherty.

I knew I would get an answer like this one..

What im asking is for what people in this forum use for multitable tournaments to get to the money. Im not asking for a book, all im asking is for their tips.

do they play only the top 10 hands until the blinds get to a certain size? do they play loose in the beginning and ultratight at the middle stages? etc etc. I just want to know some basic strategies which have worked for people here.

There is no magic tip that will get you into the $$$.

Start going through the posts and reading them.

Honestly, that is the only way.

Getting enough game to cash on a semi-regular basis in MTT's is a process that rewards time and effort.

This forum is a priceless depository of the thinking and experience of many good, very good, and great poker players and thinkers. (and they let the likes of me read it for free!!)

Reading and more importantly, understanding (the part I have a problem with) what gets discussed here is best resource availabile to help you make the $$ in MTT's.

Good Reading and Good Luck.

Welcome to the forum.

Regards,
Woodguy
