Default bankroll size needed to play nlh

Im playing nlh at pp I figure if my bankroll is 10X the max buy-in I can play that game. ie if I'm up to $2,000 I can afford to play $200max buy-in nlh. is there a rule of thumb here?

Ten buy ins is not enough at any level other than maybe the NL$25. Twenty to thirty buy ins is much better, so with your $200 you should probably be multi tabling NL$50.

10 buy ins are not enough as a rule of thumb, but if you are a good tight agressive player I think you can give it a try. If you get down to 6 or 7 buy ins reevaluate & step down.

i agree. if you play very good poker and play tighly, you can give 10 buyins a shot playing one table at a time. if you start off well, you may never have to drop down. if you lose a few buyins, you definetly need to reevaluate and move down
