Default 2/4 running dry? or just me..

Lately I am getting the feeling that the 2/4 tables are becoming tighter and passive. i seem to win only small pots and lose big pots. maybe i am having a bad streak.
i guess my question then is, anyone else experiencing this?
or has anyone experienced bad streaks lasting more than a week?

Becoming predictable are we? Overbets perhaps? "Cuteness" factor too high?

Yes, July 21, 04 to Dec 7, 04. RE: Playing like crap, money blindness, perpetual tilt. Ugly!

IMO, "bad streaks" are "user errors". The majority of LLHE players are walking ATMs.
Play solid LLHE and you'll do fine. Take a gander at either Miller/Sklansky or L. Jones LLHE books. Two somewhat different looks into the world of LLHE.

hi pokahpaul, I also win small pots and lose big ones. Of the 50 biggests pots I've been at a table with, I think my first pot (that I won) comes in around 34th with at least 15 bigger pots I've been a loser in. I have to say that in only 1 of those pots would I have been a winner, but that still stinks.

anyway, yes, work on your game.....

The 2/4 games are still good, try playing at prime time though.

Good luck..

Hey, I just got done with a 230 hand session at probably the juiciest 2/4 table I've ever been on. They're still out there, you just have to look for them (and keep your buddy list updated--you can make a lot of money off of 1 or 2 bad players, even on a table averaging only 6-7 BBs per pot).

If you're following the basic blueprint laid out in SSH, you probably aren't going to win a whole lot of huge pots; good players only win really big pots when they make a monster hand vs. at least one other very good one. Bad players often win huge pots when they make a series of bad calls and catch a lucky river card. 'Tis better to be a consistent winner than to win one $200 pot but end up down $100 for the session.

My worst dry spell so far lasted about 10 days, but I haven't been playing nearly as long as most of the people here.

I have been running very well this past week at 2/4, and I have yet to win a really big pot. I have just taken many, many moderate-sized and small pots, lost the occasional big one, and stayed out of the way during fish fights. Do that, play solid ABC poker, and you'll work your way out of a downswing.
