Default repairing kem cards

i have a kem card that's slightly warped. Its not really noticable unless you're really looking for it in a game. Is there anyway i can fix it? I've tried laying the card between a few books but it still has a slight warp.

A new deck of cards is a pretty cheap solution.

Yeah, just get a new deck. Casinos sell their used cards real cheap.

I heard ironing the card under some paper may be able to smooth it out- but dont kill me if it warps it more!!

At a casino...

But, I don't agree. If you've got plastic Kem cards, you shouldn't replace them with a standard coated paper deck. You're already spoiled with the goodies. Try the ironing trick, otherwise, yep, dish out $15 for a new deck.

I'd steer away from ironing it, unless you're really, really careful. I have a very curly seven of clubs after trying that.

If the warp is slight, try dampening the card with a dishrag (just like you'd do when you wash them). Wipe the excess moisture off, let it dry a bit, then put it in the middle of the deck and place a heavy weight on top (6-8 encyclopedia volumes will do). In three or four days, you should have a card indistinguishable from the rest of the deck.

Also, reverse half the deck so that all of the existing bowing/warping is pointed towards the center of the deck, rather than the outsides. That and the weights might work.

I have an older deck of Kems with a bowing problem- I've tried the "reverse warp" positioning with a little success, I'll try weights next and then maybe (gulp) ironing.

I think a long, slow cooking process will work better. Try putting it between the pages of a thick book and leave it somewhere where it gets pretty warm (or hot) regularly, like the attic, garage, or even in the car during the day. If you need a quicker fix I would try warming it up with a hair dryer before trying the iron.

If ur really wanting to tackle this repair preject urself, DUCT TAPE- the end all- be all solution to any home repair project... if you start this repair project and can't handle it with duct tape alone, you'll need a paperclip, a stick of gum, swiss army knife and Macguyver's phone number... now I'm starting to annoy myself.

Or you can check the Kem replacement thread where 2+2ers send out good cards from bad decks of Kems.
