Default Bad opportunity to semi-bluff?

Greektown 2-2-5 Game, I have a very tight and quiet image due to the run of cold cards I've been getting. So bad that I decide to play A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] early... EP limps, I limp, MP limps, folded to button who makes it 20 to go, blinds fold, I call, MP calls. A little info, button is a regular 10/20 and higher player at the casino, everytime I've gone there I've seen him playing, I think he is a very good and tricky player, but I havent' seen much, other than on his first hand at the table where he posted in LP he raised, and bet hard on every street to buy the final person out of a decent sized pot and then flipped over absolutely nothing K3o....I think it was just an advertising play...

Button ($800)
MP ($2k)
Me ($500)

Flop ($70ish) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I check, MP checks, Button bets $50, I make it $150, MP folds, Button thinks, says he believes that I have a queen and folds.

So a few questions:

1) Is this a bad board to semi-bluff at with a flush in the sense that it's very likely opponents could be playing QJ or any other Q varient that could fill up by the river? Let's say he decides to call anyway and the turn puts up a brick, with my tight image I think I'd bet this again, but otherwise be more inclined to check...thoughts? Recently I think I've been getting myself pot committed too early and have been making one early mistake which then makes the rest of my moves technically correct, is that the case here? If he calls then my stack sits at $320 and the pot sits at $370 so any smallish bet he makes I can call in the hopes of catching it on the river.

2) I feel like the only reason my opponents folded was because they saw how tight I was playing and assumed I had it, yet there are other games where I couldn't make this play because I would be called in 5 places due to my LAG image in those games...MM has discussed the idea of image in a few of his books and what the most profitable type was but I was wondering what some of the posters here thought... on one hand I can value bet more with a LAG image, but I can steal more pots with the tight image, anyone have any preferences or thoughts on this? I thought I remembered reading somewhere about how it's important to have a dynamic image at the table, in the sense that you are perceived as a LAG/calling stationg/TAG by different players at different times but this seems impossible...

Default Re: Bad opportunity to semi-bluff?

I don't often semi bluff on a paired board in multiway pots. But in this case assuming you read the button for maybe AK/TT/99/88 - this play seems fine. He knows even if you are making this play with a jack he is behind. I think its pretty read dependant. I would be much more likely to make a play like this live then online. I also think I would be more concerned about what the first checker had rather then the button. The button either has a big hand or he missed the flop or has an underpair. With a big hand being the least likely I would think.
