Do You Even Know the Defintion of a Political Conservative?
I don't think you do and your post makes this quite clear. Since your defintion of a political conservative is not even in the ballpark there is no point in even discussing this with you.

Re: Democrats are still 100+ years behind the curve.
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] While the Democrats played with race, being anti-black when it garnered them votes of whites [/ QUOTE ] Good point. Who's Willie Horton, anyway? [/ QUOTE ] He's the guy that Al Gore dug up as an issue against Dukakis. |

Re: Are conservatives simply 25 years behind the curve?
[ QUOTE ]
If you can tell me one liberal republican or one conservative democrat in the history of the U.S. be my guest. [/ QUOTE ]I'll do you better and name some Presidents: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teddy_Roosevelt And any Democratic President before FDR. It was the political realignment in 1964 that got rid of the conservative Democrats and progressive Republicans. You can read more about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conservative_Democrat I can sense you're going to start making moronic assumptions about what "liberal" and "conservative" mean, assuming stances on modern issues are their definitions. Even though I called it, I bet you still do it. |

[ QUOTE ]
Your answer to his claim was to dispute with with misleading and incomplete facts that again generalize states. This whole red state blue state thing has gotten out of hand. It is proven that most governament handouts occur in inner cities which are mostly democratic. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, which is why the top 5 are New Mexico, Alaska, Mississippi, W. Virginia and North Dakota, and NY and California rank 42 and 43? Ok. Again, the poster made a sweeping generalization about Red and Blue states and I presented evidence that disagreed with it. You are welcome to dispute my post, but please back up your argument with something other than conjecture. |

He's the guy that Al Gore dug up as an issue against Dukakis. [/ QUOTE ] Well played. But I think it says something equally condemning about Republicans that Willie Horton was completely ineffective during the Democratic primaries, but highly effective when Lee Atwater puts him into the now infamous ad. |

I'm sure you were outraged when Democrats ran ads comparing Bush to the guys who dragged the black guy down the road. Democrats showed their fundamental racism in the 2000 campaign.

Democrats showed their fundamental racism in the 2000 campaign. [/ QUOTE ] What does this mean? Are all dems racist? Or just the leaders? Or is there something inherently racist about the Democratic ideology? |

I heard very little objection from Democrats across the board, so it makes you wonder about all those Democrats who were silent about such tactics. |

[/ QUOTE ] I would agree the tactics are underhanded, unfair, and disingenuous - but not racist, unless I'm missing some details here. |
