I think that this might be the first 60 day challenge that has really interested me... Good luck.

[ QUOTE ]
My bankroll will grow at a rate of $250 + 30% of winnings each month.

[/ QUOTE ]

This part is silly.

Be a man - if you have the $200 to start and she thinks your a degenerate then she should have no part in the profits until she acknowledges you're not an idiot.

Re-invest it 100% in your BR - reduces your Risk of Ruin and decreases the time before you can move up and hopefully earn more.

Yes, it is a horrible deal, but he already agreed to it. So I think as a man he has to stick to his word. She did leave him some outs though - if he can prove himself he might get to renegotiate.

"This is my four step plan to manhood:

1 Dump the wife

2 Get a girlfriend

3 Play poker whenever you feel like it

4 If she complains, get a new girlfriend"

2 through 4 don't require 1.

my fiance didn't get it until one day she took a nap for 2 hrs. i ended up winning two SnG's and had a silly run in a real soft ring game. she woke up and i was playing and she said are you gambling agian? i sadi no, i'm playing poker, and i just won $100 while you were asleep. want to go out to dinner tonight? her tune has changed considerably.

I mean, maybe the guy makes $10/hour playing .50/1. he's going to reinvest $3 of that into his bankroll? that's 316 hours until he has enough for 2/4. that's a lot of opportunity cost right there. IMO he should focus on moving up ASAP.

also, the whole "withdrawing the winnings" seems like a dangerous plan to me. go on a huge rush and win 200BB. withdraw that, and then proceed to run bad for 250BB or so. bam, he's broke and has no bankroll.

it's really not a very good plan.

I think that 25NL is absolutely the best place for you to play with a $250 bankroll. The games are so soft that you can play really tight and wait for premium hands, and usually get paid off. I'd recommend playing tighter than is optimal at first until you get a more comfortable bankroll.

I'm confused, in the previous thread you said you got to keep 30% of all winnings over $200 for a month, but also got to keep all of the first $200. Has this changed?
