Re: Do you ever try to \"dodge\" variance?
I play thousands of hands every month, I don't worry about how I'm doing this hour. I just make sure I'm playing well, I'm on a good table, and I'm feeling like playing.
Why stop when you are crushing them. |

"I'm a 3.5BB/100 winning player"
Anyone else think this is the funniest line of the whole thread? |

Because they don't believe that you are a 3.5bb/100 winner.

Re: Do you ever try to \"dodge\" variance?
Love the new avatar, Sponger.
Puppy, in your original post you said you were a long time lurker. If that is true, did you really expect the responses to be any different? On a more "deadly serious" note, the only time I will quit after a short, but incredibly good run is for psychological effect if I have been on a downswing. I don't do it often, but I did this very thing on Sunday morning after winning 50 BB in less than 100 hands after a bad session on Saturday night. I try never to do it if GameTime+ is telling me that the table is incredibly soft. |

Re: Do you ever try to \"dodge\" variance?
Quitting when ahead won't help you dodge variance unless you quit forever. If you really want to reduce variance, you need to avoid putting money in the pot in situations that are only slightly +EV. The bad news is that this will also reduce your win rate. If you are adequately bankrolled, it is better to play the marginal situations.

Dear Puppykicker,
you know, I've read your first two threads and I've got to say, with all sincerity: you, sir, are a tool. Go back on the meds. You need to ratchet down the tension, Dude. |
