A few live hands!
So in my effort to play more live poker, ideally at somewhat higher stakes (I used to play 3/6, I'm looking to play up to 15/30 now) I went to the casino last night. My choices were 5/10 and 20/40. I wasn't about to play 20/40. The 5/10 game played like .5/1 at party. Here we go.
Hand 1: 3 players limp and I complete the SB with Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Flop is 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. I bet and get 2 calls. Turn card is the 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. What's the plan for the rest of the hand? Hand 2: I get A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG and raise it up. I get 3 callers including the CO who just sat down and posted. The fishtastic woman on my right who appears to be a regular mentioned that she's played with him before and it's good. Take it for what it's worth. The flop comes A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. I bet and the CO raises. I 3-bet he caps. Plan for the rest of the hand? Hand 3, just checking on a clarkmeister here. 2 loose limpers and I complete the SB with Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Flop comes Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. I check hoping the button who has been betting a lot of flops light bets it. He does and I raise. One limper thinks a minute before folding and the button calls. Turn is the 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. I bet. |

Re: A few live hands!
Hand 1: I think I fold the turn to a bet. If it checks through and I hit my flush on the river, I bet out if checked to me. 8x, 9x, any pocket pair, or xy (where y is your flush card) have you beaten on this board. The pot is too small to go to war over even with a flush, IMO.
Hand 2: Do the other two callers fold to your flop bet? I put the CO on a high ace or 3x. Maybe a pocket pair if he he's insane. If he's got a 3, only an A helps, but if he has Ax or KK or something, a J probably makes you the best hand, so I check/call the turn unimproved or bet out on an A or J. Check/call the river unimproved, the pot's going to be at least 10bb by then. |

Re: A few live hands!
This post should go in small stakes
hand 1: consider raising preflop. QJs is pretty damn good. And definitely bet the turn. If raised, count the pot and see if you have odds to call for your boat hand 2: call the hand down hand 3: is the sb 1/2 of the bb? on the turn, check fold. one of these guys has a heart. probably the ep player. Also, consider check folding the flop or just call the flop and lead a non scary turn card. |

Re: A few live hands!
#1: bet again. yes they could have a pocket pair, but that card is scary for them if they don't. plus you still have probably 6 full outs to a better pair.
#2: bet again. i still think you have the best hand. #3: i think i would have folded right out on the flop. i doubt you're winning this hand on that turn so i'd just be weak-tight and check/fold. |

Re: A few live hands!
2/5 the BB, so it's not extremely different. I know it's a bit of a loose complete. Also in hand 3 both limpers folded, only the button called. I suppose I should have made that more clear.
