Re: Push AJo here?
Isn't this a pretty simple fold? UTG who you don't have a read on has min raised at a full table... seems like clear strength to me and without a read i'd give him the benefit for the doubt.

Re: Push AJo here?
Why is a min raise "clear strength"? In my world I see min raises with all kinds of stupid hands. Only in the imaginations of the MTT forum does AA always seem to lurk behind the min raise.

Re: Push AJo here?
We're calling because:
A) It's not 1/4th of our stack, it's a little more than 1/10th. B) We're getting 3.5:1 pot odds. C) We're playing at the $5 where players overvalue hands, don't understand why you raise 2.5x, 3x, 5x, etc. (the "Raise" and "Pot" buttons are the easiest to hit), and generally do not take position into consideration. I see min-raises from any position with weak suited aces and small pairs more than enough times to play a weaker hand like AJo here. |

Re: Push AJo here?
It's not 1/4 our stack - it's 300 more to play which is c. 3.5-1 - at the 5.50's miniraise could mean anything and I don't agree that it clearly implies strength, but do agree that AJo isn't all that great a hand and you're out of position on the flop. I don't like it that much and you're early on here so I think I might fold this.
I'm not really sure what I'm doing on the flop but betting pot basically is committing you so it's probably check/fold - your outs might be no good and you're probably behind. |

I'm horrendously retarded with my reading ability today. I don't know why I thought he wasn't in the blinds. Reading too many posts, too much work, too little sleep. Anyway I think it still is a fold although it's much closer than I originally thought. Yes I'm worried about AA/KK, but it could also be a donk with A9sooted who doesn't know what else to do. |

Re: Push AJo here?
Do you guys EVER play a hand?
Its a FIVE DOLLAR tourney - I have seen people raise with Q10 here. And youre in the BB, its only 300 more, and its only you and one other guy? My god, if you fold this, you are never gonna play a hand. If the same flop he said actually came and there were not three of the same suit, Id say he is usually way ahead(top pair and kicker). Now, it night be pocket Q J K or A but you cant fold in this situation consistently in a 5 buck tourney and ever hope to win anything. I aint saying go broke but you cant wait for aces all the time. |
