I think the other guy is the one that overplayed his hand. I dont slow down here until he 3bets the turn, especially with the BB still drawing.

Re: Misplayed Rockets anytime? 30/60 Party
Everything looks fine except for the river bet. You played your hand well up until the river. With the SB 3 betting you before the flop and willing to 3 bet the flop, yet doesnt reraise you on the turn you can rule out JJJ, so he probably has QQ or KK. I would say 50/50. So when the Q falls on the river, you have to consider what % of the time you will be called and what % of the time you will be check raised with QQQ. 50% you will win a bet from KK, but 50% of the time you will be check raised with QQQ, in which you will have to call and lose 2 bets, for a net loss of 1 bet every time. So even though it looks like an even money bet or better, the possbility of being check raised with QQQ makes betting the river wrong. If the river card were anything other than a K or Q or a spade I probably would have bet. Every other thing you did in the hand was aggressive and well played.

Re: Misplayed Rockets anytime? 30/60 Party
The fact that the caller open folded makes the river bet really easy imo. After putting in 7 SB preflop and on the flop, most players are paying off any pair. This is even more true when a third opponent open-folds the river, as the guy doesn't have to be worried about being overcalled, and bluffing is viewed as more likely.

I think you're looking at Ajs and KJs here a lot of the time.

I think you're looking at Ajs and KJs here a lot of the time. [/ QUOTE ]Er yeah sometimes, I wouldn't say as often as qq + kk. As to the bit about checking the river, say %40 QQ %40 KK %20 other beatable hand. And that's on the turn. On the river, how often do you think that QQ checks this in front? I guess since I've maxed out and they may fairly expext a raise, it may be alot. Nevetheless the river isn't an obvious check I don't think. A 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I would bet, considering it's a 15:1(right?) against him having the flush. |

If the river was a spade, I don't think the BB would have open-folded.
