Default Over pair on draw heavy board

Villian in superfish, but a bit quirky. 78VP$IP/34%WTSD/23%W$SD (75 hands). I'm voting good fold, just curious what others think.

easy fold, but why no raise pre-flop, especially with the CO poster

Sometimes I'll raise in this particualr situation, but sometimes not. At this level I've found limping JJ's to be more profitable. If the flop is 8 high, people will call down with K8, A8 etc... also flopping trips is especially lucrative with JJ's as you'll likely flop top set and although a lot of people will pay off almost any set, JJ's is especially unexpected and profitable. Last night for instance I flopped top set against a set of ducks and a set of 99's.

the thing is, he'll also call your raise with K8, and then you'll get even more money. Raise preflop.

Good fold.

Since you limped pre-flop, good fold. A raise really would have helped define your opponent's hands. If you only play JJ for set value you are giving up some EV. A pre-flop raise allows you to represent any paint that hits the flop. A queen or king high flop isn't as scary if put in a 4-5bb raise and follow up with a half pot continuation. Also, when you hit your set with JJ, many under pairs will stick around and pay off what they think is your 'AK'.

I will limp with JJ occasionally when I know I will get action, but against a 'super fish' I am raising this pre-flop 100% of the time.

Finally, while I think villain probably had a 7 in this case, I have seen fishy players with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] take a similar line trying to protect their hand.
