Three Types of Chips, Need Help

Just wondering if you guys own or have played with a set of any of these three. The first set I was looking at was from pokerchips.com a custom order set. Second set was from BuyPokerChips.com the Modern Clay Chip set. The last one was the Edge Spot Design: Grand Island design (Does anybody know where to order these I can only find there pics). If anybody has any comments, suggestions or opinions on any of these that would be appriciated.

1) Search the forum for some answers.

2) Get samples from all prospective vendors & see/feel if you like them.

Just seen one pokerchips.com sample A-mould without edgespots... it was nice anyway

Have four BPC Modern Clay samples and they are very nice... for me I'd need to get NJ's clay samples to compare if I was willing to spend the dough... excellent chips but for the cost I decided I could get Chipco customs and went that route.

Here's another: MSPatton 11/11 ... the jist "The Grand Island is the same, they are only available on Ebay by the owner (no not me) and sell there for $565-575 per 500 w/o a case."

The Grand Island and Modern Clay are both the same chip, made by Blue Chip. If you get a sample of one, it will be the same chip, different design. The James Bond chips are also the same.

Now what do you mean exactly when you say they are the "same" chip? I've looked very closely at the images of the Grand Island and James Bond chips and it looks to me like they come from the same "grass" (for lack of a better word) mold. I have a 10 chip sample of BPC Modern Clay and I absolutely love them except for the lackluster olive branch "poker" inlay. But the mold for them is the A234... mold and the inlay is much smaller than the Grand Island and James Bond chips. Is it really the "same" chip? Do they have the same semi-rough linen texture as the Modern Clay? Do they share that same slightly sunken inlay?

All the chips you are talking about are made by the Blue Chip company. That is why he said they are the same

Yes, thank you, I understand that. What I'm asking is whether, because they are all produced by Blue Chip, they all have the same texture/feel and the same quality-level sunken inlay. My point, as seen in my post, is that I really really like the feel of the BPC chips but not the inlay, so I would like to know if I can get the "same" chip with a different inlay. Just because they are all Blue Chip chips doesn't necessarily mean that it's the same chip just with different pictures. Especially after hearing stuff about different molds from the same manufacturer feeling very very different, like people have said about pokerchips.com. (i.e. that the square/circle chips feel plasticy while the horse head chips feel great even though the chips are presumably made of the same/similar material).

So I'd still love an answer, thanks!

I just purchased a set from pokerchips.com that I love. I purchased 1000 with edge spots. I didn't get any logos (I think foil stamping is ghetto, and the real custom logos are expensive). My set has 600 white with blue, 300 red with orange, and 100 green with pink. It's worked great for cash games of 2/4 and 4/8 so far.
There are a couple of things to consider:
They take forever to get - like 20 weeks. They told me it would be faster, but from asking around this is the norm.
They are a little different than most casinos clay chips. They are more brittle and have brass flakes in them.
You'll never have to worry about anyone sneaking chips into a game as you would any other pre made set.
People don't seem to thing that are that custom since there's no logo, but that's just a show off/pride issue.
I would recommended a set, just be prepaired to wait.
