Default Biloxi

I usually drive up from FLA 2-3 times a year to play in biloxi for 1-2 weeks a pop.

I know all the major casinoes right on the beach down to Gulfport where either completely destroyed or severley damaged.

Is there any poker in Biloxi at all right now?
How did the Imperial Palace do?
I would think if there was any casino open they may open up a makeshift pokerroom. Is there anywhere to play poker on the Mississippi Gulf Coast-if not how about New Orleans area?

I dont want to go as far out as Coushatta,Lake Charles or Baton Rouge. I'll drive the extra 5 hours and hit up Tunica before that.

I'm not sure, but I think that the closest one is the 8 table room at Boomtown on the west bank from NOLA.

I played Friday night with a guy from Biloxi, and he indicated that nothing is up and running in Biloxi.

If you change your mind and consider Baton Rouge, they consistenly offer $2/5 NLHE 50/300 buyin, 3/6 LHE, and 4/8 LHE. They are trying to get a Wednesday 15/30 LHE going starting at 5 pm. They offer 4/8/12/12 Half Holdem/Half Omaha High on Thursdays starting at 10 am. Several regulars try to get the 1/2 & 1/2 started other days with some success. Rake is $5 max + $1 jackpot drop.

Given the limited game selection, high rake, mediocre room quality, and nonexistent comps for poker players I wouldn't make a special trip to visit this room.

I played last week in Philadelphis, MS with a few folks from the coast. They named a poker room that was opening back up Dec. 21, I believe. It seems like the one they said was Palace

From the Biloxi Sun Herald

http://www.sunherald.com/mld/sunhera...s/13198651.htm
By New Year's Eve, three of the Coast's 13 casinos should be back in business, but it will take months or years for others to rebuild.

The three casinos that will open by the first of the year - Imperial Palace, Isle of Capri and the Palace - are all in Biloxi. Beau Rivage plans to reopen on Aug. 29, the anniversary of the hurricane. Treasure Bay also plans to reopen next year.

A rundown of reopening schedules for other casinos:

• Boomtown Casino could open with a new barge within six months.

• Casino Magic Bay St. Louis will open its golf course in mid-December and could open a casino in nine months.

• Hard Rock Biloxi plans to rebuild, but its plans are on hold because of legal issues with its banker and insurance settlements.

• In Hancock County, Silver Slipper executives said they hope to begin construction next month and open within a year.

• Treasure Bay Casino could reopen about six months after the company receives approval to build a 70,000-square-foot casino on the south side of its hotel.

• Another new casino, Bacaran Bay Casino, will present its site plans to the city of Biloxi in the next couple of months and ask the Gaming Commission at its January meeting for permission to proceed with construction.
