I think more people should marvel at the glory that is this hand. on a side note, i showed this to a friend of mine and he was like "you bet too much" and my response was "if i dont bet, i dont win any money" anyone have any thoughts on this?

If they are a calling station (or are passive, as many are), they will not bet unless they have something really good so you have to bet to increase the pot. Maniacs will bet with 72o. If someone has a good hand they will often bet (even passive players), and you can only dream about when they are reraising you when you have the nuts.

I think I'm missing something. Your plan was to bet on the river and FOLD to a raise? Why would you fold a royal flush? You were just joking?
