Action Jackson
Loose Party 5/10 table. A number of my opponents frequently bet draws and top pair weak kicker into preflop raisers. The Blinds are especially loose/calling stations types.
3 callers to me on the button and I raise with Js Jd. Both blinds and all the limpers call. ** Dealing Flop ** : [ Kc, Tc, 4h ] (12 small bets, 6 players) Checked around to me and I bet, the blinds call and all the limpers fold. ** Dealing Turn ** : [ 8c ] (7.5 big bets, 3 players) Checked to me on the button and I check. ** Dealing River ** : [ Jc ] Checked to me on the button and I bet, only the big blind calls. Comments? Should I have bet the turn or checked the river? Anybody check the flop? Results to follow. PS - Anybody else having problems with Bison's hand converter? |

Re: Action Jackson
I don't think the converter is working right now.
The turn is an easy bet, especially since you have no outs if you're behind a flush. If he check-raises you and is not a tricky player, you can easily fold. Your opponent could have easily called the flop with a straight or a 10. There's no reason to give him a free card here. |

Re: Action Jackson
Yeah, you are probably right about the turn. These are the 2 loosest players at the table. I think I was worried about all those opponents and the coordinated board, but the situation is different on the turn with these opponents. The flush check/raise is pretty common on Party, but that shouldn't scare me because I'm beat if either of these guys raise.

Re: Action Jackson
Bet the turn, you said they were call stations your self.
I think checking the river is better as I think they will have a small-medium club more often than JT,Kx and I dont see them calling with anything else, give the texture of the board. Had the board been T-high they would call with many hands as they tend to put you on AK or AQ, but they cant here. |

I think checking the river is better [/ QUOTE ] Once I check the turn don't you think a flush would bet the river? That was my guess anyway, so I thought it was a value bet on the river. |

Re: Action Jackson
I think a low club will check-call, as he only will get called by better hands.

I don't do the hosting, so I don't know if something was up this morning.
However, I just converted this, so if it was down, I think it's back up. The Big Blind had T5s (no clubs) and MHIG.
I probably should bet the turn here. I won't get any better hands to fold or anyone drawing live to fold but it is a value bet against these two. I don't know if I would have bet the river if I bet the turn here, so maybe I made the same amount. These players were passive so they might not bet a low club, they definately call a bet with one. I think it made it a clear value bet on the river when they check it thru again. |
