When I was down there Binion's had a great one. After rebuy and stuff it was like 100 buy in maybe, but the structure was great. The blind levels were 30 min. and blinds were at 25/25 and had antes later on instead of the usual doubling of the blinds.

Great tourney for the money. Don't know if they still have it or not, it was a few months ago.

Allvegaspoker.com

I believe that Plaza, Binions and Golden Nugget are the only three downtown to have tournaments.

Binions has 10am, 2pm, and 8pm tournaments.
Plaza has multiple tournaments daily. I played one and if I remember correctly it was 30 minute levels. With rebuys it came to like $100 or so. Only problem I had was there were several loose aggressive players and I was not catching any hands at all, with not enough chips to attempt much of a move.

30 minute levels sounds not too bad. I saw somewhere that the juice on the binions was pretty bad, particularly because 2% of the prize pool is held back for a TOC for monthly 1st place finishers prize pool (which won't do me any good). GN's look a little high entry for me (they all seem to be rebuy), so I guess it will be the plaza. May try to enter one GN one just to play there and check it out.

I'm staying at the plaza anyway.

I'll post a wrap up here for anyone elese intersted.

I was told they had 4 a day... I think the missing one is at like 1 am or something like that.

What are the buy-ins for the Binions tourneys? Are they all rebuy tourneys?

according to this page: http://www.allvegaspoker.com/tournaments.php that's only 72% of buy in returned to the players (as prizes). I think that's absurd.

Hey dude you gotta check out the sng's or (single table shootouts) as the Plaza calls them. They run every day from 10am and are soft as hell. I almost died when I heard it was a $20 +5 buyin how much rake do they want???

Also the midnight tournament at the plaza drew quite a few runners was fairly soft but I just couldn't get the cards. I stayed there from the 3rd-10th sept so my accounts of the room are recent.

sweet. I'm thinking I will just stick with the plaza tourneys. I don't know about those $20 + $5. I try to cut the live rooms some slack. I know they don't make a lot off of tourneys, but these rakes are ridiculous. Hell, let's play $90 + $10. I'd rather play that than $20 + $5!

Hey, since you were there, did you notice the Blackjack minimums? My wife was asking me to check (I will be playing some bj with her). Was it strictly $5? or was there some $3? I like my blackjack to be as cheap as possible, since i'm pretty much there to booze it up and stuff.

Plaza is mostly $5 minimum. Las Vegas Club is right across the street and is the same. Golden Gate is also right across the street and features $3 craps and $3 BJ(from a shoe). Everywhere else except Gold Spike is $5 I think. Gold Spike may even be as low as $2 and Western as well, but I think I would stay away from those places.
