you are now taking the statement out of context.

[/ QUOTE ]

In context or out of context, your statement is incorrect. The family does not get to decide if he gets the death penalty.

Alright, now that you've completely evaded my question, how about you just answer what I asked you. Why do you care whether or not Stan Williams was put to death?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I believe in vengeance. The victim's families wanted him put to death and that is all that matters. They are the only ones with any say in this matter. If someone kills someone you love and you want them spared then that is your choice. Don't question the victim's families right to think otherwise.

Well, I am sure killing Tookie will prevent people from joining gangs and commiting crimes! Yeah for the death penalty. Only in America could a criminal nominated for the Noble Peace prize be executed.

Well, for one thing, I don't have to pay for feeding him anymore.

Could we possibly start executing everyone we don't want to feed or clothe anymore? Clear off the welfare and unemployment rolls quick, I can tell ya.

It is more expensive to execute someone than it is to feed him.

It's still wrong. I'm not going to keep arguing this. When you say: "The victim's families wanted him put to death and that is all that matters." That is just plain wrong. It isn't all that matters. They aren't "the only ones with say in this matter." Crimes are committed against society. Crimes are charged "The People" or "The State" against the person. We don't charge them "The victim's families" versus "Tookie."

When you say "If someone kills someone you love and you want them spared then that is your choice." You are again, wrong. It is the jury's choice.

You really aren't helping your argument by placing your incorrect assertions into "context" as no context improves your blatantly false assertions.

Looks like Oakland didn't care as much about Tookie as Berkeley did.

Edward Charles Allaway killed 7 people in a university library and is currently living in a psychiatric hospital paid for by your tax dollars, and yet I don't see the same indignation from you, even though his care is likely cost the state considerably more than Tookie did.

[/ QUOTE ]

I am upset that they have not cured him so he can be executed. I am indignat that it took so long to give the dope to Tookie.

Just wondering, did you support Carla Fye's appeals for leaniency? She seemed real for me but that was the sentence.
