HEPFAP play right here.

Edit - I gave the answer away but edited it.

If you're answering these questions first it better be in white, homie. You could play this one sleeping. This hand is more interesting when the 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] is instead a [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

Against an unknown, I think the decision is very easy if it was a [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] . Felt like some of the newcomers could use a bit of this stuff. Maybe I'll actually look thru my PT database and try to find something more interesting.

How about this? bad play?

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is BB with 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG calls, 3 folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (3 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB bets, Hero raises, UTG folds, SB calls.

Turn: (3.50 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB folds.

Final Pot: 4.50 BB

THEY'RE SOOOOOOTED

Type this in the chat box and you are allowed to raise. Err I mean fold.

Also, I'm a bit surprised by the results of this poll. And Entity, I only posted since I was in the ZZZZZZZZZZ part of a few SNGs.

I couldn't count the differences between this hand and that hand on 3 hands.

Yeah that's why I posted it, I voted fold in the poll but I think there are times when you should rise, depending on the situation.

That's why I posted this. Besides preflop crap and value betting, seems like a significant amount of people need some help with flop/board texture. I don't know if lurkers can vote or not. I think every poster here should be able to make this decision in a split second.

I voted raise.
My thought was that I'm likely the best hand here and I want to get rid of drawing hands.
Reasons to fold are I have the worst kicker, I'm vulnerable to overcards, there's flush/straight potential, and the pot is tiny.

Don't worry about me though. I'm expecting a delivery of poker books today that includes SSHE and HEPFAP.

i think this is an easy fold.

while our relative position is good, our absolute position sucks. our hand is likely to not be best by the river. large field. no draws are folding. coordinated board.

someone please correct me if i'm wrong.
i realize that some of the reasons i give for folding might also be used to justify raising.

CW seems to think this is a textbook play.
however i don't have my textbook on me.
