Actually, I think I could make some money at this. Would anyone care to take bets on what Bush's approval rating will be in November '06?

BGC? If over half of the November approval polls on this page have Bush at 48% or over, you win. If not, I win.

How much are you up for?

[/ QUOTE ]

The goal of the election is to win. We should not look at poll numbers (which will vary by polling firm) in November 2006, but at election results.

How about if the GOP keeps both the Senate and the House?

there's no way the overall trend can be reversed, especially as time goes on, and there's no way in [censored] hell

How about 46%? How low do I have to go to get some action around here?

[/ QUOTE ]

Give me 10 to 1 and I will bet you $100. Those seem to be pretty reasonable odds for an outcome which you describe as having no chance in hell.

[/ QUOTE ]Oh no you don't. You made a prediction about poll results and I'm calling you on it.[ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]That's where you set the bar? At the Republicans losing 5 Senate seats and 15 House seats?

[/ QUOTE ]Gosh you sure are tricky with your selective quoting. I said no way in hell at 50%.

A mere 3 years ago the Democrats were in control of the Senate. How quickly we forget.

I guess you have little confidence in your team.

[/ QUOTE ]Between you and I, I'm the only one who expects their team to gain seats in '06.

In '08 Reps will be defending many more seats than Democrats. That's when I expect to see the grown-up party take charge again.

And please provide evidence that I have expectations equal to your yet undefined grandiose expectations.

I've already made my argument in this regard. I never expected you to accept it. I made it for the benefit of the other readers in this thread. There really isn't anything left to discuss here.

[/ QUOTE ]No, you quibbled around the issue. Define a grandiose expectation.

The point was you said there was no way in hell the trend would reverse itself. You were so sure you started to offer 48% and then almost immeadiately 46%. Now that someone has shown some interest your waffling nature reveals itself.

[/ QUOTE ]10-1 odds does not show interest. It shows fear.

How low would it have to be for 1-1 odds? You name it.
