Neither.

Anyway, have you ever heard of a photo op? No doubt that's what the latter picture is, staged by politicians.

But if you want to put your trust in politicians, you go right ahead. I just hope you don't vote in my state.

The fact is that Nagin (a near lifelong Republican who recently turned Democrat), Blanco (a Democrat), and Bush (a stoned drunkard turned Republican) all screwed up at various stages on Katrina.

I'm glad to see that people have learned a little and seem to be doing somewhat better of a job with Rita.

Plus, it's entirely irrelevant. Clearly Texas is going to do everything right that they did wrong in LA, just because otherwise they'd be about as incompetent as you can get.

The governor of the state has determined how well the response has been.

Poor response:
Louisiana

Good response:
Mississippi
Alabama
Texas

Democrat governors:
Louisiana

Republican governors:
Mississippi
Alabama
Texas

Coincidence?

I think not.

Uh, basically. First of all, refer to my last post regarding Texas. Second, LA had the major city to contend with, which is why things went very wrong. The scope of the NO incident made it by default more difficult to prepare for.

Oliver Stone had a conspiracy theory about the assassination of JFK and other various things.

The idea of photo ops is not conspiracy, it's just a practical reality for how politicans govern in the modern era. Anyway, photo ops aren't necessarily bad -- all they are is attempts to communicate using visual information. You just shouldn't accept them without thinking about them.

But if you want to go ahead and think uncritically about the information your government and the media supply to you, be my guest.

This, my friend, is a real conspiracy theory:

it seems that katrina was a retaliation for hiroshima by the japanese mafia.
