Hold'em poker at the Vancouver casino's?

I was wondering what stakes they play at the downtown casino and the quality of play and rake or fee schedule, thanks.

There's only one casino "downtown" (in the Renaissance hotel), and it no longer offers poker.

I play at the Holiday Inn in central Vancouver, on Broadway at Heather (Great Canadian Casinos). They have 10-20 holdem, both with and without a kill. Quality of play: generally poor. Rake: $3 whenever there's a flop.

10-20 is the biggest legal game in the region. There's a 6-12 holdem game at the Great Canadian Casinos in Coquitlam, way out in the suburbs. A few other casinos around town spread 4-8 holdem, sometimes with a kill. The rake on the 4-8 games is at least $3, perhaps $4.

The casino at 611 Main St (Gateway Casinos -- "Mandarin" or "Chinatown") is now spreading 6-12 Omaha High in addition to 4-8 holdem.

I was in Kelowna this winter and they told me that BC dosn't permit poker. Guess they were talking out of their hat eh?

There actually is a private holdem gmae in kelowna a couple blocks from the main casino. 5-10 and some 10-20.

Holiday Inn FYI is about 10 mins out of the downtown core. Game is generally very good with 3 or 4 tables usually. Games start at 10:00am and close at 4:00am 7 days a week. The phone number for the casino is 604.872.5543

I was dreaming of a road trip to Vegas and on the way back, maybe doubling over to Cali, then heading north to Vancouver, then east to Toronto, most likely just a pipe dream........
