Default Vegas trip report

I just got back from my 1st trip to Vegas. Me and a friend went for a 3 night stay at MGM Grand. I really liked the MGM Grand casino. It was modern and humongous. The poker room did not have that many tables, but it was very spacious and comfortable and clean. They had LCD screens all over the place showing the games. I played 2/4 to get warmed up at first. The table was soft, there was no rocks at this table i was the only one. I spent 8 hours getting cold cards and ended up going bust. Oh and i saw Christ Moneymaker playing 5/10 NL at the time.

Next day we decided to go to the Bellagio. We saw almost every famous poker pro. Doyle, Ivey and Greenstein looked like they were playing stud in bobby's room, and Harman, Dagostino and negranu were in other tables. We also saw Phil Laak, and Johnny Chan. Pretty cool experience. Then we played some 4/8. The table was pretty good, there was 3 rocks including me, everyone else was Tight-passives and we had an occasional loose-passive that would go broke really quick and leave. The Bellagio's poker room was very cramped and the felt on the table was filthy. I did not like that, maybe it was cramped because of the satellite going on at the moment. Anyways, we played for about 5 hours i was fluctuating and finally ended the session down $20. My friend had a nice rush of cards and was up over 50 BB's. We also went to the Wynn but their 4/8 game had a huge list, so we decided to skip it. It was a very nice room though, i still like the way MGM poker room was alot better.

Final day, we played the 11am MGM grand tournament. We were alternates, we both got in in about 30 minutes from the start of the tournament. I busted fairly quicly by a guy who called my all in for 1/2 his stack with an open ended straight draw. My friend busted 11th place. Top 9 got paid 1st place was about $2000. I played 3/6 for the rest of the day in the MGM Grand. The table had 2 rocks, and we had a nice flow of fish coming in and out. After about 6 hours the table broke up and i was up 20 bb's.

MGM's buffet was excellent. I really liked the room and the service. A very clean hotel & casino. Overall a very fun time. We plan on coming again and seeing some shows and more sights next time.

Default Re: Vegas trip report

Oh and according to a dealer in our 4/8 table at the Bellagio, Bill Gates was playing 4/8 at the time. I looked around but couldnt spot him, maybe he had sunglasses on. I couldnt imagine Bill Gates in anything except those big ol glasses he always wears.
