Default Too Tight?

Ok so I have QJo UTG, 50 players remain, paying 45 spots, my stack is average size, loose table. I go all in get 2 callers flop comes QJ3 turn comes 5 and the river is a 3. the guy turns over AA. I cant believe the bad luck I have, this is unreal. so the next hand I get 55. theres a raise and a reraise, I go allin for my remaining chips and some guy gets sooo lucky with AQ to catch a Q on the river. I hate party.

Ok that was a joke, my real question is:

the last 10 or so tournaments I have been playing in I am averageing about 8-10% flops seen. I play mostly live and average around 16-19% and am 1.6/BB winner for over 700,000 hands (no rakeback, no pokertracker), so this seems low to me, but I'm very new to tournaments. also, in every one of these tournaments I have placed in the top 11-19% (just out of the money). Am I playing too tight? Do I need to gamble a little more?

any suggestions?

oh and remember I was kidding bout the first part, no flaming about that please.
