Default To call or not to call

When on the blinds or in late position what are good odds to call suited connectors is five to one good? And what about with bad hands. Should u call on the blind with 9 4 offsuit because you are getting 8-1 on your initial call? Or fold no matter the odds because its 94 offsuit? Any advice would be appreciated

Default Re: To call or not to call

You should not ever be playing 94o if you have to put more money in the pot. Even if 9 people are in for two bets, you are the BB and it costs you only 1 bet to call, fold.

As for suited connectors, you can play them from late position when 4 or 5 people have called already. If someone yet to act is likely to raise, though, you may want to toss them.

Read the preflop section of Small Stakes Holdem. It addresses all these questions.
